Deapartment of Animal Husbandry & Dairy Science:
The Animal Husbandry and Dairy Science Division was established in 1960-61 with objective to provide handful knowledge and experience to B.Sc. (Agri.) and M.Sc. Students.
This division is maintaining herd of Red Sindhi cattle. The division is self sufficient in fodder production and green fodder is available throughout the year. Lucerne, R.B.N 13, Phule Anuradha , Maize are the fodder crops grown on dairy farm of 9 hectare.
Experiential Learning Unit of “Milk and Milk Products” is being carried out during VIII semester of B.Sc. (Agri.). Milk product preparation, product development, selling, training, participation in extension activities are the programmes carried out during the course.
Students of the secondary higher education and the officers of the government and non government agencies are visiting this farm along with the farmers frequently. On an average 150-200 visitors are been recorded per year.
Mastani , Matar Kheer , Sankrant pedha , Baby cherry rasogolla, Bajara lassi (using Dhanshakti var. ), Whey kulfi , Whey Soup etc. are the products developed during Experiential Learning course.
Working in conservation of Red Sindhi breed of cattle.
