Entomology

Introduction

Agricultural Entomology section has been started at the time of establishment of College of Agriculture, Dhule in 1960. Previously, this college was under ‘Pune University’ up to 1968. Thereafter, this College was transferred to ‘Maharashtra Agriculture University, Pune in 1968-69 and later on to ‘Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri’ with effect from 1969-70.

Important Activities

1. To teach Under Graduate and Post Graduate students.
2. Basic and strategic research for plant protection on Pests of Important Crops of this region.
3. Transfer of technologies developed by the Division and University.

Achievements

a) One student have joined Ph. D. programme.
b) One student has joined in Maharashtra Police as Police Sub Inspector.
c) One student of this department selected as Agricultural Officer in Maharashtra State department in MPSC exam.
d) Five students joined in Nationalized Bank.
